The show, featuring famous Canadian fiddler Don Messer, was
aired three nights a week. Vocalists included Charlie
Chamberlain, The Singing Lumberjack, and Marg Osborn. The program
originated from CBC's studios in Charlottetown, Prince Edward
Island. Messer himself, however, was born in Tweedside, New
Brunswick. The Don Messer show had 2 well-remembered announcers,
the first being Rae Simmons, and the
2nd being Don Tremayne.
